Where and How to watch South Korean Drama Squid Game?:
As of Monday, the most popular programme on Netflix is a Korean series with an unique name. Squid Game is a nine-episode sitcom set in a world where children's games have become deadly. Squid Game is the first South Korean drama to achieve Netflix's top place, just four days after its debut. It's gory and bloody, but it's also addicting and binge-worthy.
Story Plot of Squid Game Netflix Series :
Squid Game is about a group of folks in South Korea who are deeply in debt. They're duped into a dangerous children's game competition, but many of them agree to return since they realise the games are their only opportunity to gain the money they need to survive. There's a lot of money in the game: 45 billion South Korean won ($38 million, £27 million, AU$52 million). However, the chances of survival are slim.
What is the meaning of the term Squid Game?
In the first episode, Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-Jae) describes that Squid Game was a game that youngsters in his area used to play on a squid-shaped court. It's similar to Red Rover or a more complex form of tag. No spoilers. However, the Squid Game itself appears in the ultimate tournament at some point.
Why should you watch Squid Game Korean Series?
Without a doubt, the programme has a grim tone to it, and there is a lot of blood. It's unsettling to see children's activities converted into violent conflicts, and it's not for everyone. However, the characters are well-developed, and the action is fast-paced and does not prolong.
Seong Gi-hun in Squid Game Korean Netflix Series :
The protagonist Seong Gi-hun is a desperate father who is easy to sympathise with, but he isn't faultless; there is a devastating scene in which his actions result in a tragic death. Other candidates include an old guy who becomes the group's grandfather, a North Korean refugee, a mobster with a snake tattoo on his face, and a highly educated man who was the pride of his village but fell short of his potential.
The characters are swiftly and elegantly presented, and then the games begin. It's difficult not to return for more after seeing an episode, even if it's simply to see who survives the next twisted game.
What is the best way to watch Squid Game?
The nine-episode series will only be available on Netflix.
Squid Game is a Netflix original drama from South Korea that has been dubbed into English. And, unlike some episodes where the dubbing is a touch lacking, this is an excellent job. The voice performers, many of whom are established American voice actors with a Korean background, are outstanding, and viewers seldom forget the show was originally in Korean. Moreover, when seen in English, the programme does not suffer.
Can my 9 yr old kid watch a Squid Game Netflix Korean Series?
Squid Game has all nine episodes available on Netflix. This is a brutal, violent show, so be warned. People die brutally when they lose these innocent children's games. It's up to you whether to allow your child to watch it or not.
Will there be a second season of the Squid Game Netflix Series?
Hold your breath for a second season once you've finished watching the entire series. Hwang Dong-hyuk, the writer/director of Squid Game, told Variety that he might return to big-screen films before considering a sequel.
He told Variety, "I don't have well-developed plans for Squid Game 2." "Just thinking about it is exhausting. However, if I were to do it, I would not do it alone. I'd want to use a writers' room and have several skilled directors."
Shows on Netflix similar to Squid Game:
The competitive style of Squid Game is similar to that of The Hunger Games. It also reminds me of Battle Royale, a Japanese film from 2000 in which junior high school students are forced to battle to the death with improvised weapons. It's also reminiscent of the 2014 film Snowpiercer, in which characters struggle for survival on a never-ending train journey across a freezing post-apocalyptic landscape. (Snowpiercer was eventually made into a television series.) Students are transported into a parallel world where they must play games to survive in the three-episode Japanese programme Alice in Borderland.
